CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY: Two persons deprived of liberty (PDL) were found positive of using illegal drugs during a random drug test of the inmates of the Misamis Oriental Provincial Jail (MOPJ) at the provincial capitol compound here.
Provincial Governor Peter Unabia, of Misamis Oriental, made the disclosure during Monday’s flag raising ceremony here.
The PDL found positive of using illegal drugs under disciplinary actions, which would tarnish their records while serving sentence.
He said that the random drug test in the provincial capitol of Misamis Oriental also includes employees of the provincial government.
“So far, no provincial employee have found positive of using illegal drugs, “ Unabia said.
He also said that plans are underway to transfer the management, operations and administration of the MOPJ to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).
The BJMP is mandated by the national government to manage all jail operations and administration in the country. -0-
