*₱49.58M WORTH OF SMUGGLED GOODS SEIZED
BATARAZA, PALAWAN — Six individuals were arrested by authorities after a fishing vessel carrying millions worth of suspected smuggled goods was intercepted in Bataraza, Palawan.
According to the report, authorities seized a fishing boat loaded with 772 master cases of cigarettes, 41 reams, and 900 liters of suspected smuggled diesel.
Officials estimated the total market value of all confiscated items, including the fishing vessel used to transport the contraband, at ₱49.58 million
The six arrested individuals are currently under the custody of authorities for proper investigation and filing of appropriate charges. Authorities are also continuing to investigate the source and intended destination of the seized products.
