Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa has confirmed that his police security detail has been withdrawn by the Philippine National Police (PNP). He stated that he only became aware of this change upon returning to his residence in Davao.
Reports indicate that the PNP recalled the two officers assigned to his security in Davao, though it remains uncertain if the same action has been taken regarding his security detail in Metro Manila.
Dela Rosa emphasized that he does not view this move as an act of harassment, acknowledging that the PNP is implementing security measures.
In response to the withdrawal, he has secured alternative protection, as more than 10 retired police and military personnel have voluntarily stepped in to serve as his security team.
