CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Rotary International District 3870 incoming governor Gild “Gigi” Go has chosen Past District Governor ROSALINDA “LINDA” ROSALES-DELESTE of the Rotary Club of Kalayaan Cagayan de Oro as District Conference chairwoman for Rotary Year 2023-2024.
Governor Go said during Rosales-Deleste’s term as Governor, DISCON attendance was at its highest in the District. “With her on the reins for the incoming DISCON in 2024, we’re all looking forward to a more impressive and exciting District Conference,” Go claimed.
DISTRICT CONFERENCE
Go said “The purpose of the district conference is to provide opportunities for networking, inspirational addresses, and discussions of Rotary-related matters. District conferences are an opportunity for clubs to exchange ideas and showcase their achievements.”
This event, according to her, recognizes the service programs, projects, and public relations achievements in the district. The conference gives Rotarians and clubs a vision of Rotary beyond the club level and provide a memorable fellowship experience.
District Conferences usually lasts one to two days and includes a visit from a president’s representative who gives an update on Rotary International and inspires and motivates participants. A report on the district, including its successes and challenges, are also presented at the Discon.
