FROM fare increase petitions to electric vehicle (EV) support, the 21st City Council’s public utilities committee chaired by Councilor Enrico Salcedo tackled various concerns during its meeting held on Tuesday, July 14.
Among the matters discussed during the hearing were:
1.Endorsement of TRIKIMSODA’s request for a fare increase due to rising fuel costs, following the fare matrix under City Ordinance No. 15324-2026.
2.Request for support and endorsement under the EVIDA Law for Electric Taxi, TNVS, E-Jeepney modernization, and E-Bus operations in the City.
3.Request to verify OROTSCO Transport Cooperative’s authority to operate on its current route.
4.Request for assistance in addressing transportation-related concerns along the Carmen route.
5.Request for the implementation of the Local Transport Stabilization Support Program.
Also present during the hearing were Councilor Roger Abaday and representatives of various local transport organizations, including the Trinitas Transport Livelihood Motorized Sikad Operators’ and Drivers’ Association, Inc. (TRIKIMSODA), Bulua Patag Apovel Cogon Transport Service Cooperative (BUTPACOTSCO), Oro Transport Service Cooperative (OROTSCO), and the Northern Mindanao Federation of Transport Service Cooperatives (NOMFEDTRASCO).
