MISAMIS ORIENTAL – The Provincial Government is observing the National Civil Service Month in support of the 124th Annual Civil Service Anniversary Celebration. Presidential Proclamation No. 1050 series of 1997 mandated that the whole month of September is National Civil Service Month.
During the 35th Flag Raising Ceremony at the Provincial Capitol, Governor Peter “Sr. Pedro” M Unabia cited the importance of celebrating the civil service month to honor the hardwork and dedication of public servants all over the country.
The public servants, Governor Unabia said, tirelessly work to serve the nation. Thus, it would be fitting to recognize such hard work, dedication and commitment of public servants.
The provincial government invited Atty. Cosette Maglasang-Mundo, Acting Assistant Regional Director, Civil Service Commission- Region X as guest speaker to promote Dynamism in the Bureaucracy, as well as to emphasize the importance of digital transformation, innovation, excellence, and continuity in public service.
In her message, Atty Maglasang-Mundo announced the salary increases for all government employees as approved by President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong” Marcos.
She also encourage employees to learn to save some money from their salaries to prepare for their future, and the future of their children.
The lawyer has also encouraged employees to avail the financial literacy program of the Civil Service Commission to learn the proper ways of sustainable management of their finances and expenditures.
Governor Unabia’s team, composed of Vice Governor Jeremy Jonahmar “jigjag” G. Pelaez, Virgelia Dumadag Special Assistant to the Governor, administrator John Venice Ladaga, and Board members Wayne T. Militante, Gerardo “Boboy” Sabal lll. Dexter B.Yasay, Rey Buhisan, Marlon Chan Kho, Atty. Michele N. Anayron, Bliss Francis “Pangky” Acain, and Abing Bernaldez, were all present during the observance held at the Provincial Capitol Grounds of Misamis Oriental on September 2, 2024.

This year’s theme was “Transforming Public Service in the Next Decade: Honing Agile and Future-Ready Servant- Heroes.”
