Malacañang has denied having any personal knowledge about the alleged mastermind behind the arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte. This development comes after Duterte’s arrest on March 11, 2025, in connection with the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) investigation into his administration’s war on drugs.
The ICC has been probing Duterte’s alleged involvement in crimes against humanity, particularly in relation to the thousands of deaths linked to his anti-drug campaign.
Duterte’s arrest warrant was issued on March 7, 2025, and he was taken into custody upon his arrival from Hong Kong.
The Palace’s statement suggests that they may not be aware of the specifics surrounding the ICC’s investigation or the individuals involved in the process.
