PAGLAUM Women’s Congress Empowers Women in MisOr

Misamis Oriental – The inaugural PAGLAUM Women’s Congress in Misamis Oriental marked a vibrant celebration under the theme “Kababayen-ang Napagahum, Katambayayong sa PAGLAUM” in honor of Women’s Month.

The event’s first phase welcomed Women’s Associations from Lugait, Manticao, Naawan, Initao, Libertad, and Gitagum, emphasizing inclusive participation. Initao Municipal Mayor Honorable Mercy Grace “Gagay” Acain extended her gratitude to Governor Peter “Sr. Pedro” Unabia and Provincial Tourism Council Co-chairperson Mrs. Erlinda “Ging” Unabia for their unwavering support in women empowerment initiatives.

Mrs. Unabia, as a guest speaker, shared her journey emphasizing the importance of perseverance in achieving dreams, inspiring over seven hundred women attendees to contribute to the province’s growth and development.

The event featured lively dance contests and a raffle draw offering home appliances and cash prizes. Among the attendees were Governor Peter “Sr. Pedro” Unabia, Mrs. Erlinda “Ging” Unabia, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Board Members, LGU officials, and 2nd district board member Nancy Madjos, representing 2nd District Congressman Yevgeny “Bambi” Emano.

Aligned with Governor Unabia’s PAGLAUM development agenda, this gathering aims to foster unified efforts for health and social services delivery, reflecting the administration’s commitment to women’s empowerment and community development in the province of Misamis Oriental. (by Gerry Lee Gorit)
