DOST XI Forges Partnership with Bangsamoro Parliament to Boost Economic Development

To support development initiatives in the Bangsamoro region, the Department of Science and Technology XI (DOST XI) and the Office of Member of the Parliament (MP) Hussein Muñoz inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the launch of MP Muñoz’s latest program, the Suporta at Tulong Pang Ekonomiya Project (STEP), held at Molave Hotel, Tagum City.

The STEP is a component of MP Muñoz’s Grand and Unified, Interventions for Development and Empowerment Program, which aims to empower various sectors of society including women, youth, religious leaders, and community mobilizers. The project seeks to facilitate access to government assistance for sustainable projects and advocate for the development and empowerment of individuals through knowledge and skill training.

Witnessed by representatives from partner offices including the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), the partnership underscores the commitment of the parties towards advancing shared objectives.

MP Muñoz emphasized the significance of the partnership citing their steadfast commitment to providing essential services to the people in alignment with the Bangsamoro Organic Law.

“This activity today is everyone’s legacy because two agencies from the government will work hand in hand in serving Bangsamoro People, particularly the vulnerable sectors in the community,” he added.

In his address, RD Sales expressed gratitude to MP Muñoz’s office and all participants, affirming DOST XI’s dedication to offering its services for the benefit of the Bangsamoro people.

“This partnership marks a significant milestone in our efforts to foster inclusive development in the Bangsamoro Region. By working together, we can address the unique challenges faced by our constituents and pave the way for a brighter future,” he added.

The initial phase of Project STEP is scheduled to commence next month, following the conclusion of Ramadan.  (Written by: Vener Zygmond O. Rebuelta)
