COTABATO CITY – Abdulraof Macacua, the newly appointed Bangsamoro Interim Chief Minister, has vowed to ensure the continuity of government services and the stability of governance in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
Commitment to Governance and Peace
Macacua made his pledge during his assumption of office at the Bangsamoro Government Center, where he was welcomed by thousands of supporters and members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF). In his speech, he reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with the MILF leadership to uphold peace, stability, and moral governance in the region.
He also assured cabinet members and government officials that their work in serving the Bangsamoro people would continue without disruption.
Focus on Smooth Transition
Macacua’s leadership will focus on ensuring a seamless transition until the first Bangsamoro parliamentary elections in October 2025, as directed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. He officially took his oath of office before the President in Malacañang on March 12, following his appointment as interim chief minister on March 3.
With the Bangsamoro peace process at a critical juncture, Macacua’s administration is expected to play a pivotal role in strengthening governance, maintaining regional stability, and preparing for Bangsamoro’s first democratic elections under its new autonomous framework.
