Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Nur P. Misuari, recently attended the 15th Session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Islamic Summit on May 5,2024 at Banjul Gambia (West Africa).
With a theme “Enhancing Unity and Solidarity through Dialogue for Sustainable Development “ OIC Secretary General H. E. Hissien Ibrahim Taha called out OIC to all OIC members continue to double time their efforts to mobilize international support for Palestine Also insisting the responsibility of International community to stop Violence against Palestinians in Gaza and West Including Al Quds Ak-Sharif. As well the need to Palestine for back in their membership in United Nations. As respond to H.E Riyad al-Maliki, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Palestine.
Summit Conference commenced in the presence of their Majesties, Excellencies, and Highnesses, heads of states, and governments of the OIC member states, and high-level dignitaries from non-member states.
MNLF’s participation in the summit highlights its commitment to engaging with the OIC-member states and advocating for the rights and interests of Muslims in the Philippines especially MNLF delegation represented the aspirations and concerns of the MNLF and the Bangsamoro people..
They were seated next to the UN delegation during the entire summit. It also demonstrates the front’s commitment to address the issues faced by the Bangsamoro people.
Officially invited by the OIC being its permanent observer, the MNLF delegation was led by its Vice-chairman and BTA Parliament Deputy Speaker Ustadz Abdulkarim Tan Misuari. Other members of the MNLF delegation were: Dr. Denmartin Kahalan Member of the Bangsamoro Parliament, Mahendra Madjilon, MNLF Chief Editor, and Akmad Nudjang, Senior Political Affairs Officer.
At the end of the two-day conference, the 15th Islamic Summit adopted a special resolution on the issue of Palestine and Al-Quds Ash-Sharif, a comprehensive communique, and the Banjul Declaration.
