Having previously obtained the right to participate in the LTFRB’s pilot project for motorcycle transportation development, the ride-hailing company recently received a permit to expand its services to new cities.
Now, the MotoTaxi rate is available in the Maxim app for Cagayanons. The rides are provided by professional driver-partners who have completed licensed training at the company’s own training center. Ride prices start at 20 pesos, making this mode of transport one of the most affordable in the city.
Legality and safety
Maxim received the TNC license and the passenger transportation permit from the DOTr in 2023; the company also became a participant of the pilot project organized by the LTFRB that originally launched in Manila and now includes Cagayan de Oro as well. All of this confirms that all services, including rides via moto taxis, official taxis and private vehicles, are safe and legally provided.
All rides booked through the app are insured, both for driver-partners and for clients. This serves as an additional safety guarantee for Maxim’s users, especially in cities with heavy traffic.
Convenient payment options — including cashless
Maxim has also introduced a cashless payment method across the entire country. Users can now add their bank card in the app, and the ride price will be automatically deducted after the ride is completed. Maxim recommends that clients let their driver-partner know in advance that they are planning to pay by card to avoid any misunderstandings.
