Cagayan de Oro City – On March 2, 2026, newly appointed Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Region X Regional Director Aljo Bendijo, J.D., met with officials of the Cagayan de Oro Road and Traffic Administration (RTA) to discuss the implementation and ongoing development of the Local Public Transport Route Plan (LPTRP). The courtesy meeting aimed to align local transport strategies with national modernization goals and to strengthen inter-agency collaboration for more efficient, safe, and commuter-focused public transportation in the city.

During the meeting, both parties emphasized the importance of coordinated planning and evaluation to ensure that public transport routes remain sustainable and responsive to the needs of residents. Director Bendijo highlighted that effective implementation of the LPTRP requires close partnership between LTFRB and local government units, particularly in addressing urban mobility challenges and improving service delivery.

The discussions also focused on integrating local transport initiatives with national programs under the “Bagong Pilipinas” vision, which seeks to modernize the country’s transportation infrastructure and systems. By aligning local efforts with national objectives, the LTFRB and RTA aim to create a seamless, modernized transport network that benefits commuters across Northern Mindanao.

This engagement marks a continuing commitment by LTFRB Region X to work hand-in-hand with local government partners and stakeholders to advance public transportation services. It reflects a shared goal of promoting safe, efficient, and commuter-oriented transport options that support economic growth and quality of life in the region.
