CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY: Fuel cash subsidy for public utility jeepney (PUJ) operators and drivers in Northern Mindanao is scheduled for distribution next month, a land transportation official said Friday.

Aljo Bendijo, Regional Director of the Land Transportation and Franchising Board (LTFRB) in Region 10, said that 7,000 PUJ operators and another 5,000 PUJ drivers are scheduled to receive the cash fuel subsidy on April 6, 2026.

He said that the LTFRB has the list of beneficiaries who will receive the fuel cash subsidy through “G Cash or their transport cooperatives.”

According to Bendijo, as of Friday, the LTFRB regional office has listed a total of 1,323 PUJ operators and 1,072 PUJ drivers for Cagayan de Oro City alone.

“The number of the beneficiaries in the regional and Cagayan de Oro City level might increase because more would be beneficiaries are coming forward,” Bendijo told the Mindanao Daily News.

Bendijo said that each PUJ operator is expected to receive P 2,000 while each PUJ driver will receive P5,000.

Bendijo also emphasized that the payout for Assistance for Individuals in Crisis (AIC) is initiated by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), not the LTFRB.

LTFRB, however, is mandated to submit list of 1722 driver-beneficiaries to the DSWD, Bendijo said.
