Liteferry Three now serving CDO-Cebu and CDO-Jagna Routes

By Tito Mike

Fifteen of your CDO Bloggers were invited on a vessel tour of the new M/V Liteferry Three on October 8, 2024. The vessel had its maiden voyage on the Cagayan de Oro-Cebu and Cagayan de Oro-Jagna, Bohol routes last week.

We assembled at our historic Kiosko Kagawasan where we took a memento in deference to our local turista from Iligan, Narz Moria of Travel Vlogs Philippines.

Next we were transported to Macabalan Pier by Jimboy dela Cruz where we received a warm welcome aboard the vessel from CDO Branch Manager Jensen Jimenez and his staff, and the officers and crew of M/V Liteferry Three.
Liteferry Three – formerly Our Lady of Mt Carmel of Cebu Ferries has been re-engined and refurbished with a service speed of 12-14 knots which is preferred by commuters and businessmen for arriving earlier in Cebu.

Sailing with a Legacy

Lite Shipping Corporation’s beginnings can be traced back in 1990 when Boholano founder, president, and CEO Lucio E. Lim Jr. spearheaded the acquisition of its first RO-RO cargo passenger boat that connected Loon, Bohol and Argao, Cebu.

The 175-gross ton vessel was christened LCT ST. MARK and had a capacity of 4 ten-wheeler cargo trucks, 5 cars, and up to 70 passengers.

The company’s expansion was made possible by Mr. Lim’s far-ranging vision for Lite Shipping’s growth and sustainability. To date, Lite Shipping Corporation operates twenty RO-RO cargo passenger vessels connecting major routes in the Visayas and Mindanao.

Through the years, the company with its Boholano origins has stayed true to the friendly nature that Boholanos are best known for. Its friendly crew happily adheres to Lite Shipping Corporation’s slogan of “Sailing with a Smile.”
