SANTO NIÑO, South Cotabato — Former Congressman and lawyer Nathaniel “Mr. Tulong” Oducado continues to champion youth development, this time by providing soccer balls to pupils of Guinsang-an Elementary School in the Municipality of Santo Niño, South Cotabato, as part of his continuing advocacy to encourage young Filipinos to pursue their dreams through sports.
The simple turnover activity was warmly received by students, teachers, and community leaders, who thanked Oducado for his unwavering commitment to programs that uplift children beyond the classroom.
During his term in Congress, Oducado earned recognition for authoring and co-authoring numerous House bills aimed at improving education, social welfare, public services, and opportunities for ordinary Filipinos. His legislative record, coupled with his reputation as a compassionate public servant and respected lawyer, earned him the enduring moniker “Mr. Tulong.”
“Every child deserves the chance to dream. Sometimes, all it takes is a soccer ball to remind them that their future is bigger than the field they play on,” Oducado said.
He stressed that sports teach discipline, teamwork, resilience, and leadership—qualities that help shape responsible citizens.
“Laws can change lives, but so can simple acts of kindness. Public service is not measured by the size of what we give, but by the sincerity of our desire to help,” he added.
Oducado expressed hope that the sports equipment would inspire students to pursue excellence both inside and outside the classroom.
“May these soccer balls encourage our young learners to keep dreaming, work hard, and strive for success—not only in sports but in every opportunity life offers them,” he said.
Known for his people-centered approach to public service, Oducado continues to support education, youth empowerment, and community development even after his congressional term, reinforcing his long-standing belief that investing in the country’s young generation is one of the greatest investments the nation can make.
