Em Thuong – the original Vietnamese baguette in CDO

By MARK FRANCISCO

THE Philippines offers a fusion of international cuisines since the palate is obviously global nowadays wherever you are in the world. Of course, this country is not an exception and for quite a while, Cagayan de Oro has gotten a slice of this beautiful diversity of food.

As a local here in CDO, have you ever tasted an original Vietnamese baguette? Well, it is a different kind of baguette compared to the French one since it has a thin, crispy crust and is soft in the middle, unlike its French counterpart which has a harder exterior.

Vietnamese baguettes are now in CDO, produced with modern equipment in a clean facility. They are located at Tran Bldg, Zone 1, Upper Balulang with the entry of Em Thuong (Vietnamese for “I love”) in the city.

Since Em Thuong was founded by a Vietnamese-Australian himself, we can be assured that it only serves authentic Vietnamese baguettes as if you’re in the middle of Saigon.

At the moment, Em Thuong offers two kinds of Vietnamese baguette – banh mi nem nuong (grilled pork) and banh mi ga nuong (grilled chicken). Apart from the particular meat, each variant is filled with pate, special mayonnaise, cucumber, pickled daikon and carrots, chili pepper, cilantro, and fried spring onion with special sauce.

Aside from the baguette, Em Thuong offers pizza such as super supreme, hawaiian, and pepperoni. Also on hand are fried chicken (original/spicy) and chicken, pork barbecue and burgers.

Em Thuong is available in Food Panda and Grab from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (Mondays thru Saturdays) and from 5:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Sundays.

Em Thuong – isang tikim, babalik-balikan mo na!
