The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) 10 hosted its Annual Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (RSTW) from October 1-3, 2025, at the Bayfront Arena in Oroquieta City, Misamis Occidental. This year’s theme, “Agham At Teknolohiya: Kabalikat Sa Matatag, Maginhawa, At Panatag Na Kinabukasan,” emphasizes the vital role of science and technology in creating a resilient and comfortable future. The sub-theme, “Building Smart And Sustainable Communities,” highlights the event’s focus on innovative solutions for local industries and communities.

The three-day event featured a dynamic Technology Expo that showcased various DOST-developed innovations aimed at addressing local challenges. Visitors had the opportunity to explore cutting-edge technologies designed to enhance productivity across sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, and education. By bridging gaps between technology developers and end-users, this expo fostered collaboration among local government units (LGUs), enterprises, and academic institutions.

One of the key highlights of RSTW was its emphasis on human well-being through technological advancements. Workshops were conducted to educate attendees on how these innovations could improve their quality of life. Local entrepreneurs were particularly encouraged to adopt sustainable practices by utilizing available technologies that promote wealth creation while ensuring environmental protection.

The event also served as a platform for networking among stakeholders from diverse backgrounds. Participants included students eager to learn about career opportunities in science and technology fields. The collaborative spirit fostered during RSTW is expected to reinforce community ties while paving the way for future partnerships that prioritize sustainability and innovation.

The DOST RSTW not only delivered significant advancements in science and technology but also reinforced their importance in building resilient communities. As participants explored new ideas and innovations over three days, they collectively envisioned a brighter future where smart solutions lead to sustainable development for all sectors of society.
