The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) – Caraga will hold the Buhay Ingatan, Droga’y Ayawan (BIDA) Regional Grand Launching and Rollout in the Province of Agusan del Norte and Butuan City on July 1, 2023, at Dottie’s Place, Butuan City. This is in line with the intensified and more holistic campaign of the department against illegal drugs to reduce drug-driven demand in the communities – BIDA.

DILG Secretary Atty. Benjamin Abalos Jr., Usec. Lord A. Villanueva, Usec. Margarita N. Guttierez, Asec. Lilian M. De Leon, Asec. Florida M. Dijan, CESO III, and Dir. Debie T. True to the BIDA Program’s grounds, the joint activity will be centered on the furtherance of a drug-free and safer region through promotion of positive influences such as Sharing of Testimony and Success Story of a Recovering Drug Dependent (RDD) and Stressing the Ill-effects of Illegal Drugs.

BIDA DAGAN, the DILG Caraga’s organized advocacy run, will officially commence the Regional Launch of the program. BIDA-gan will start at 4:00 AM at the Butuan City Sports Complex and head to Agusan del Norte Provincial Capitol Covered Court for the finish line. The BIDA-gan top five (5) finishers in male and female categories, as well as the winners of the BIDA poster-making and BIDA short film contests, will be recognized afterwards.

Along with Sec. Abalos and other DILG Central Office dignitaries, partners from other Regional Line Agencies, LGUs, Non-Government Organizations (NGOs), Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), and DILG-attached agencies are also anticipated to participate in the exercise, including representatives from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Department of Health (DOH), Department of Education (DepEd), Philippine Information Agency (PIA), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of the Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), among others. Additionally, DILG Caraga extends an invitation to all interested parties to support and take part in the advocacy run.

The ground breaking of the Central Police Station at Brgy. Villa Kananga, Butuan City, and the operationalization of the Serbisyo Caravan of partner agencies were also scheduled on the same day as part of the activity.
