CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — The Department of Agriculture – Region 10 (DA-10) reaffirmed its commitment to supporting collaborative initiatives transforming agricultural opportunities into viable investments in Northern Mindanao during the 35th Mindanao Business Conference (MinBizCon) Wednesday, August 12.
DA-10 Regional Executive Director Jose Apollo Y. Pacamalan underscored, in his message, the potential for public-private partnership and investment in Northern Mindanao, particularly in the coffee, grains, high value crops, and the livestock industries, highlighting business opportunities in the export market, agricultural modernization and alternative energy sources.
Pacamalan also championed the DA-10’s effort in digitalizing agricultural data and strengthened pest and diseases monitoring and response capacity to advocate data-driven agriculture and environmental sustainability.
Pacamalan urged the private sector to invest in Northern Mindanao’s agriculture sector, citing opportunities in coffee processing, post-harvest facilities, livestock waste-to-energy, halal meat processing, and digital agriculture.
He said stronger government-private sector partnerships can strengthen agricultural value chains, create jobs, improve market access, and support food security while enabling farmers to participate in a more competitive agricultural economy. DA 10/PIA 10
