In a significant step towards promoting breast cancer awareness and early detection, the Cotabato Regional Medical Center (CRMC) and the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Office of the Parliament Speaker have entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), of which as stated in the agreement, a substantial sum of Php 1,899,800.00 has been allocated to CRMC to provide breast ultrasonography and digital mammography services for breast cancer screening to qualified BTA parliament women employees. This initiative aligns with the observance of this year’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, highlighting the commitment of both organizations to combat this disease, Top Officials said.
Breast cancer is a pressing global health issue, and its impact on women’s lives cannot be underestimated. The MOA between CRMC and the BTA Office of Parliament Speaker is a significant step forward in the fight against breast cancer within the Bangsamoro region headed by the Director II and Chairperson of GAD Miss Jonaina M. Macabao and Miss Amirah B. Macacua- Legislative Chief of the Office of Parliament Speaker and together with their staff. By allocating funds for breast cancer screening services, the BTA demonstrates its dedication to raising awareness, supporting early detection, facilitating treatment, and improving palliative care for those affected by this disease.
Dr. Ishmael R. Dimaren expresses profound gratitude for the partnership between CRMC and BTA in the battle against breast cancer. In his heartfelt message, he conveys, “On behalf of the top management at CRMC, we are genuinely elated that the BTA has entrusted CRMC as their dedicated ally in the relentless fight against cancer.” This statement underscores the significance of their collaborative effort and the pride CRMC takes in being the bridge to combat this critical health issue.
