CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Ronald Costanilla, a candidate from Barangay Canitoan bagged the recently concluded first ever male pageant in Cagayan de Oro, which became controversial, when one of its contestants was shot dead in May, this year.
Other winners of the pageant held at the Atrium of Limketkai Center last September 29, 2023, include Niq Apolonio of Barangay Consolacion as Mister CDO Maharlika and Timur Vagizov from Barangay Bugo as this year’s Mister CDO Turismo.
It was also learned that the grand winner was also crowned previously as Mister Iligan and Mister Lanao del Norte.

CONTROVERSY
The male beauty tilt was hounded with controversy in the past months as one of its prime candidates, ADRIANE ROVIC FORNILLOS, 24, from Barangay Lapasan was shot dead by still unknown attackers while visiting his pageant coach in Barangay Nazareth.
Earlier, Police Lt. Col. Evan Vinas, spokesperson of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) said three persons of interests have been identified by the investigating team.
Colonel Viñas said based on the findings of its investigators, the killing of a Mister Cagayan de Oro candidate, was a crime of passion. The police official did not elaborate but the police probe pointed to a certain pastor as the mastermind of the killing.
