Withdrawal of the appointment of Governor Macacua, a solution to a political crisis in Maguindanao del Norte, says lawmaker

BY ASANGAN T. MADALE

MUJIV S. HATAMAN, Deputy Minority Leader and Representative of the Lone District of Basilan said the other day that a withdrawal to the appointment of Governor Macacua as Officer-In-Charge of Maguindanao del Norte could be a better solution to the political crisis recently happening in the province.

“Maaring i-withdraw ng Office of the President (OP) ang appointment ni Abdulraof Macacua bilang OIC ng Maguindanao Del Norte at paupuin si Bai Ainee L. Sinsuat bilang Acting Governor, habang hinihintay ang Desisyon ng Supreme Court kung naisin ng Office of the President na magpasiya sa krisis sa lalawigan.

Rep Hataman said this during the interpellation of the budget deliberation of the Office of the President. The lawmaker explained his opinion at the plenary especially on political issues and legal matters in regards to what is currently happening in Maguindanao Del Norte.

He added only the withdrawal of appointment of OIC Governor Macacua is the solution for the smooth and continuing government in the province.

Acting  Gov Bai Ainee L. Sinsuat of MDN

Meanwhile, acting Governor Bai Ainee Sinsuat of Maguindanao del Norte has issued her Official Statement, dated September 24, 2023, stating that it were meant to correct the wrong information and to clear everything about the present issues.

Maraming salamat,” Sinsuat added.

On the appointment of OIC in Maguindanao Del Norte, Atty Michael Henry Yusingco said recently during the Caucus of Governors in Davao that “Dapat tayong lahat dito sa publiko, lahat ng tao sa BARMM, for what matter, should be respected that -if we adhere to the notion Rule of Law.

In an interview by FACTS FIRST with Christian Esquera Atty Yusingco, senior researcher fellow of Ateneo Policy Center emphasized the importance of adhering
to the rule of law.

The statements of Atty Yusingco are in line with the commitments of the BARMM Governors Caucus (BGC) efforts on achieving the goals of peace, and rule
of law, which are essential for the regions’ progress and stability. ###
