CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Former president Rodrigo Roa Duterte and Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go were declared adopted sons of this city, following their formal proclamation Thursday at Limketkai Luxe Hotel here.
Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Rolando “Klarex” Uy personally handed the award to Pres. Duterte during the awarding ceremony.
The local government of Cagayan de Oro thanked Duterte’s contribution in helping fast track the developments of the city during his incumbency as president of the country.
The local government particularly cited Duterte’s flagship project dubbed as “Build, Build, Build” and his no-nonsense illegal drug campaigns nationwide.
Meanwhile, the resolution also cited the successful nationwide project of Senator Go, particularly his establishment of various “Malasakit Centers” inside hospitals all over the country.
In Cagayan de Oro, Go’s Malasakit centers were established in Northern Mindanao Medical Center and JR Borja General Hospital. The said program of the senator greatly helped thousands of indigent Filipinos nationwide.
The two “Malasakit Centers” in Cagayan de Oro, the resolution cited, greatly helped city residents in terms of medical assistance and other hospital expenses.
The resolution also cited that Senator Go was instrumental in the creation of two Super Health Centers in Barangays San Simon and Balubal and four more health centers that Go helped put up in the city.
