In a press conference September 14, Ymballa said the fun run will consist of three categories and will kick off at the south parking lot of Limketkai Center, this city.

The categories are 3 km, 5 km and 10 km. Participants of the 10 km category will receive an event singlet, Tyvek race bib, snacks, refreshments, acrylic finisher’s medal and tote bag.

Named after the vernacular of restoration, Panaghi-uli Run 2026 will support livelihood programs for the city jail inmates, fund their drug dependency exam fees which will run up to P1,200 each, supplying additional medical supplies and medications and constructing specialized facilities for the inmates with special needs.

Ymballa reported that the 2025 edition of Panaghi-uli Run was able to net around P200,000 and as a result, the inmates were able to create a bakery, barbershop and café in the facility.

This year, the Cagayan de Oro City Jail – Male Dormitory is planning to introduce more livelihood programs such as basketry, carpentry and milkfish and catfish processing into tocino, boneless bangus, smoked fish and fish in oil, according to Ymballa.

With a population of 60 elderly and inmates with special needs, the Cagayan de Oro City Jail – Male Dormitory under Ymballa is planning to acquire more wheelchairs and construct more ramps and rails.
