CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY: Local police nets about three-kilogram illegal drugs valued at P20.4 million in a buy bust operations in Cagayan de Oro City Thursday (March 19, 2026), the regional police office said here.

Maj Joan Navarro, spokesperson of the regional police command in Camp Alagar here, said two suspects were collared during the joint operations led by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 10 along the coastal highway in Lapasan, Cagayan de Oro City Thursday noon.

Navarro identified the suspects only as a certain “Bossing,” 23 and “Junjun,”25, both residents of Calaanan, Cagayan de Oro City.

Seized from the suspects were 30 knot-tied ice wrapper plastic cellophanes on seven various sizes of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets, containing white crystalline substance believed to be Shabu, weighing approximately 3- kilogram.

Also recovered were red plastic container, two empty plastic cellophanes, two eco bags, and the marked buy-bust money, including one genuine PhP1,000.00 bill.

“Bossing” allegedly served as a transporter and distributor of illegal drugs within Cagayan de Oro City, the police report said.

The illegal drugs were reportedly sourced from Marawi City and delivered through a “dead drop” scheme, where the items are concealed in a specific, pre-arranged location for the buyer to retrieve without direct contact with the seller.

The suspects are now under the custody of the police Maharlika Detention Facility here while the confiscated drug were submitted to the Regional Forensic Unit 10 for examination as evidence.

Charges with violation of R.A. No. 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are readied against the suspects.
