THAT unassuming yet popular swimming spot in Bulua – Sagatech Resort – will become an even bolder and bigger destination soon.
This was the announcement made by proprietor Norberto Gonzales and manager Larry Balbin during a press huddle September 28.
Currently a familiar destination for swimming, celebrations, reunions, and weekend getaways the resort became one of the local recreational spots where families and groups could spend a day away from the bustle of downtown. Patrons would even jokingly refer to it as the LTO swimming pool since it is situated beside the regional office of the government transport agency.
But with the fast rising development of Northern Mindanao, the people in charge of the resort have more ambitious plans ahead.
Gonzales said he is planning to transform the four-hectare property into a high-rise mixed use edifice containing residential, commercial and office spaces alike.
Of course, the swimming pools will be retained and will complement the whole destination.
Gonzales, a former defense secretary, said that he is envisioning more green spaces surrounding the vast estate such as planting more trees within the vicinity to make the mixed use resort more sustainable.
With the economic landscape of Region 10 continuing to evolve, this sure is a welcome progress ahead!
