In a heartfelt demonstration of volunteerism and community unity, SM CDO Downtown and SM City CDO Uptown came together in support of Brigada Eskwela 2026, extending assistance to Misamis Oriental General Comprehensive High School (MOGCHS) in preparation for the opening of the new school year.

Embodying the true spirit of bayanihan, employee-volunteers led by SM City CDO Uptown Mall Manager Mell Felixes Sagales and SM CDO Downtown Assistant Mall Manager Pauline Therese Corotan dedicated their time, effort, and resources to improving the school environment. From repainting and repairing classroom facilities to replacing hallway ceilings and cleaning learning spaces, the volunteers worked hand in hand to help create safer, cleaner, and more welcoming classrooms where students can learn, grow, and thrive.

The initiative supports the Department of Education’s Brigada Eskwela program, which carries this year’s theme, “Bayanihan sa Paaralan: Nagkakaisa para sa Kaayusan at Kaalaman.” More than preparing schools for the academic year, the program serves as a reminder of the importance of collective action and shared responsibility in nurturing the future of Filipino learners.

This outreach activity forms part of SM Cares, the corporate social responsibility arm of SM Supermalls, through its employee volunteerism program under the Human Resources Department. The initiative reflects SM’s continuing commitment to education, community development, and meaningful public service—demonstrating that through unity, compassion, and cooperation, lasting positive impact can be created within communities.

Driven by its enduring commitment to serve and uplift Filipino families, SM Supermalls continues to champion meaningful programs that inspire hope, strengthen community partnerships, and help shape a brighter future all for you.
