Manila, Philippines – Detained Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KJC) founder and senatorial candidate Apollo Quiboloy has called for “divine intervention” in response to the arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte by the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Quiboloy, currently held at Pasig City Jail, expressed his unwavering support for Duterte, condemning the arrest as unlawful and uncharacteristic of Filipino culture. His statement was delivered by his legal counsel, Kaye Laurente, during a rally in Manila, where Duterte supporters gathered to demand his release and repatriation.
Facing his own legal battles—including allegations of child abuse and human trafficking—Quiboloy stressed the need for divine intervention to protect the country from “unlawfulness and illegality.” His plea adds another voice to the growing debate surrounding Duterte’s detention and the ICC’s ongoing investigation into his administration’s war on drugs.
