DR. Jestoni P. Babia, president of the City College of Cagayan de Oro and head of the technical working group (TWG) that conducted the feasibility study for the proposed New City Hall and Integrated Government Center, assured the public that the city has the capacity to repay a loan should the project be approved and sufficient funding be secured from banks or other financial institutions.

Meanwhile, Dr. Babia also explained that, based on the feasibility study’s assessment, the city’s budget and the delivery of essential government services—including healthcare, education, social services, and others—would not be compromised.

“The data did not come from us.”

This was the clarification made by Babia following the release of the feasibility study results for the proposed New City Hall and Integrated Government Center, which received 89 percent public approval.

During the “Inyong Alagad, Mayor Klarex Uy” program on Friday, October 9, Dr. Babia revealed that the City College collaborated with various institutions, including the University of the Philippines (UP), Mindanao State University (MSU), Xavier University (XU), and the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP), to ensure the study’s credibility and the reliability of its findings.
