THE inflation rate of Northern Mindanao in July 2026 is at 6.4 percent. This is 0.6
percentage point lower than the inflation rate observed in the previous month and 7.0
percentage points higher than the inflation rate in July 2025.
Across the provinces and highly urbanized cities, the highest inflation was recorded
in Lanao del Norte at 8.3 percent, while the lowest was noted in Camiguin at 4.0
percent.
The main drivers behind the deceleration of inflation in July 2026 were:
- The slower increase in the prices of transport, which recorded an inflation of
17.1 percent in July 2026, from 19.8 percent in June 2026, and accounted for
40.0 percent share of the downtrend in inflation; - The slower increase in the prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which
posted an inflation of 5.8 percent in July 2026, from 6.2 percent in June 2026,
and contributed 29.5 percent share to the downtrend in inflation; and - The slower increase in housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels, which
posted an inflation of 6.1 percent in July 2026, from 6.6 percent in June 2026,
and contributed 17.2 percent share to the downtrend in inflation.
The major contributors to the overall July 2026 inflation in Northern Mindanao were:
- Food and non-alcoholic beverages with 39.9 percent share;
- Transport with 24.0 percent share; and
- Housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels with 18.9 percent share.
