CAMP SIONGCO, Awang, DOS, Maguindanao del Norte – The leadership of the 6th Infantry (Battle) Division and Joint Task Force Central strongly condemned the killing of four members of the army in Tuayan 1, Datu Hoffer, Maguindanao del Sur, Magalas 10:00 this morning (March 17, 2024).
According to Major General Alex S. Rillera, head of the 6ID/JTFC, the soldiers’ troops had no choice but to assassinate them while riding in a civilian vehicle back to their patrol base.
It is known that they came from the town and bought food for their “Iftar” (meal of those who fast after sunset) from the Muslim brothers in the community who are fasting near the soldiers’ patrol base.
It was learned that every Ramadan the troops have a habit of holding “Iftar” to Muslim civilians who are protected by the soldiers.
Although the officer was identified, he did not mention the names of the soldiers who died, which were two privates, a private first class and a corporal.
