RD Abragan recognized as Anti-Colorum Champion for combating illegal real estate practices

RD Abragan has had so many accomplishments tagged into his name, most especially in the eradication of real estate companies operating in the region, which had no license to sell, and all other similar violations.

Right after he assumed office as Regional Director of DHSUD, RD Abragan conducted a no-nonsense probe on issues involving illegal real estate practices. True enough, the regional director has confirmed the presence of companies operating as subdivision developers. Unfortunately, the probe team has also learned that the companies, indeed, have many violations.

During the 1st Housing Summit as organized by the Chamber of Real Estate Builders Association (CREBA) Cagayan de Oro chapter capped with the oath taking and induction of new members.

During the second day of the three-day summit, there was a panel discussion for sustainable development for the future and anti-colorum issues on unlicensed developers and sales agent with the following distinguished guests as panelists: Dr. Eduardo Ong (PRBRES), Dr. Pilar Banaag (PRBRES), Dr. Ariel Abragan (DHSUD) and Vivian Vestil (SHDA). It was moderated by chapter chairman Engr. Chrysler Acebu.

The highlight of the three-day affair was the recognition given to Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) 10 director Ariel Abragan for his efforts in combating illegal real estate practices and colorum developers in the region.

The 1st Housing Summit held at Limketkai Rotunda in Cagayan de Oro City from August 25 to 27 showcased the projects of member-developers to the public and promoted professional advancement within the local realty sector.

In Iligan City, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), together with the regional office of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD-10) issued a cease and desist order against Jam Realty Development, for alleged violations.

Regional Director Ariel B. Abragan of DHSUD 10, together with NBI agents from Iligan City swooped down at Jam Realty Development office in Iligan City ,and served the cease and desist order and the notice of violation of the said company.

The issuance of the cease and desist order, according to Director Abragan, would temporarily block the company from selling houses on subdivisions they reportedly developed in Northern Mindanao.

In a related development, Regional Director Ariel B. Abragan and NBI Regional Director Patricio S. Bernales, Jr., has prepared a crackdown on these alleged bogus developers, unregistered brokers and colorum salespersons.

Multiple cases involving illegal real estate practices are being built up as an alarming influx of complaints from victims are received by DHSUD.
