CAMP Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Butuan City – In two separate anti-illegal drug operations conducted in Cabadbaran and Butuan City on January 26, Caraga police successfully seized a total of P129,200.00 worth of suspected shabu, resulting in the arrest of three individuals, including two high-value targets (HVIs).
Police Brigadier General Kirby John B Kraft, the Regional Director of Police Regional Office 13, confirmed the joint efforts of the Regional Special Operations Unit and Butuan City Police Station 1, in collaboration with the PDEA – Agusan del Norte. The operations led to the arrest of alias Kev, 33 years old, at his residence in Barangay Buhangin, Butuan City. The suspect was found in possession of 15 grams of suspected shabu, valued at P102,000.00.
Simultaneously, in Barangay Del Pilar, Cabadbaran City, suspects identified as alias Cris, a 25-year-old watchlisted HVI categorized as a pusher, and his brother, alias Jul, were apprehended. The brothers were found with 15 pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, weighing a total of four grams and valued at P27,000.00. Additionally, assorted illegal drug paraphernalia, including an improvised needle foil, five empty transparent sachets with traces of suspected shabu, an improvised plastic straw scoop, and a disposable lighter, were seized from the siblings.
The arrests were executed based on search warrants issued by the local judge. Separate charges for violation of RA No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, have been filed against the apprehended individuals.
Police Regional Director Kraft emphasized the success of the anti-illegal drug campaigns, attributing them to the support and cooperation of the community. He urged everyone to assist PRO13 in these efforts, emphasizing the importance of collective action in freeing Caraga from the adverse effects of substance abuse.
