DEL PILAR, Agusan del Norte – One (1) high-powered firearm and various war materials were captured by the combined troops of the 29th and 30th Infantry Battalion in a clash at Brgy Concepcion, Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte on February 23, 2024.
Prior to the encounter, the unit received reports from concerned civilians regarding the Communist Terrorist Group’s (CTGs) conducting extortion activities in the area. After validating the veracity of the report, the troops immediately conducted combat operations in the area that led to the encounter against more or less 10 CTGs believed to be members of the Sub-Regional Sentro de Grabedad, Northland, North Eastern Mindanao Regional Committee (SRSDG, NL, NEMRC) under Ricky M Per alias Rem.
The clash resulted in the death of certain Leo Salino Mindoro alias Yolly/Yang, staff member of SRSDG Northland and capture of one (1) AK47, war materials and voluminous documents with high intel value.
Furthermore, our troops facilitated the extrication of the cadaver in collaboration with the SOCO and Cabadbaran PNP. Likewise, the Cabadbaran LGU facilitated the proper burial arrangements of the killed CTGs. We already reached out to the family of alias Yolly and the disposition of his remains.
