NorMin project monitoring cmte assesses high-impact projects in Bukidnon

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)–The Regional Project Monitoring Committee (RPMC) of the Regional Development Council of Northern Mindanao (RDC-X) assessed and evaluated high-impact programs and projects in the province of Bukidnon August 23-25, 2023. 

It is part of the quarterly field monitoring activities undertaken by the Committee as the monitoring and evaluation arm of the RDC-X. 

During said visit, the RPMC-X team monitored various projects poised to bring about positive changes in the local communities. 

The team visited projects under the Department of Science and Technology’s Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program, which aims to enhance and upgrade the production and processing facilities of enterprises such as MROY Inc. and Mountain View College of SDA, Inc. in Valencia City, and Mushroom City Company in Malaybalay City. 

The team also inspected the Solar Power Irrigation System (SPIS), a major flagship program of the Department of Agriculture under the Small Scale Irrigation Project. The SPIS aims to provide affordable and sustainable energy for irrigating essential crops such as rice, corn, and high-value crops in production areas. The said project also contributes to promoting renewable energy utilization in the region. The SPIS projects monitored are located in Lumbo and Tongantongan in Valencia City and Bangcud and Linabo in Malaybalay City. 

Two vital farm-to-market road projects of the Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP) were also inspected as part of the Intensified Building Up of Infrastructure and Logistics for Development (I-BUILD) component. 

These projects are the Barangay Mabuhay to Brgy. Banlag Proper to Sitio Pantaron FMR and Mt. Nebo-Sitio Migtulod FMR, Valencia City, aimed at enhancing infrastructure connectivity and logistics in the region. 

Other projects monitored were major bypass roads implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways-Regional Office X. These key infrastructure developments include the Construction of Batangan Bridge, Valencia Bypass Road Extension, Construction of Maapag Bridge Along Jct (Batangan-Laligan) Dagat Kidavao Road, Replacement of Laligan Bridge along Jct. (Valencia – Batangan) Laligan Road, Construction of Malaybalay Circumferential Road, and Construction of Sayre Highway Parallel Road I. (NEDA-X/PIA-10)
