Camp Navarro, Calarian, Zamboanga City – Commanders of the Joint Task Forces and the different brigades within the area of operation of the Western Mindanao Command renewed their commitment to serve the people and the state in the traditional New Year’s call rendered to the Commander, Lt. Gen. William Gonzales, on Wednesday, January 17, 2024.
Among those present were Maj. Gen. Alex Rillera, Commander of Joint Task Force Central; Maj. Gen. Gabriel Viray III, Commander of Joint Task Force ZamPeLan; Maj. Gen. Ignatius Patrimonio, Commander of Joint Task Force Orion; Brig. Gen. Romeo Racadio, Commander of Joint Task Force Tawi-Tawi; and Col. Randolph Rojas, Commander of Joint Task Force Zamboanga.
Also in attendance were Maj. Gen. Araus Robert Musico, Commander of Air Combat Command; Brig. Gen. Nestor Narag, Commander of Combat Support Brigade; Brig. Gen. Rocky Binag, Commander of Tactical Operations Wing Western Mindanao; and the commanders of all OPCON and tenant units of WestMinCom.
In his message, Lt. Gen. Gonzales reiterated the order of the Commander-in-Chief to dismantle all terror groups in the joint operational area of the Command. He also commended the joint task force and brigade commanders for all the operational accomplishments particularly, in the campaign against the local terrorist groups and the communist terrorist groups.
“As we set in the year 2024, let us embrace the challenges that lie ahead with unwavering determination and courage. Let us get the job done,” Lt. Gen. Gonzales added.
The activity was also graced by the presence of the two Deputy Commanders, Chief of Unified Command Staff, and Coordinating Staff and Special Staff of the Command.
The New Year’s Call is a traditional event held by the Armed Forces of the Philippines to renew and strengthen the spirit of camaraderie and esprit de corps among the key officials of the organization.
