Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 10 reminds customers to buy Christmas lights with Philippine Standard (PS) mark or Import Commodity Clearnace (ICC) sticker for a safe and brighter holiday season.
The PS mark or ICC sticker guarantees the safety and quality of the product.
The full list of valid PS Certification Mark License issued for Christmas lights by the Bureau of Philippine Standards (BPS) can be checked in https://tinyurl.com/PSChristmasLights2022. Meanwhile, the list of ICC Certificates and Stickers issued for the Christmas lights can be accessed in https://tinyurl.com/ICCChristmasLights2022.
Aside from the ICC sticker or PS mark, the public is also encouraged to look for other important labels in the package of the Christmas lights such as the name, address, trademark of the importer or the distributor of the product to easily track the distributor for possible complaints, rated voltage and rated wattage of the set; rated voltage and rated wattage of the lamp; the words ‘For indoor use only’; the number of this standard (PNS 189:2000), and country of origin.
