The government has approved a significant increase in the daily subsistence allowance for military personnel, raising it from P150 to P350, effective January 1, 2025.
According to Executive Order No. 84, signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on behalf of the president, the adjustment aims to support officers and enlisted personnel of the Armed Forces, along with trainees, probationary second lieutenants/ensigns undergoing military training, and Citizen Military Training cadets in summer programs. The increase also applies to reserve officers, enlisted reservists in training, and members of the Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit.
The funding for this adjustment will be sourced from the approved 2025 national budget and other potential allocations identified by the Department of Budget and Management, ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations. Future funding for the program will be integrated into the annual budget proposals of the Armed Forces.
The move is seen as part of the administration’s effort to improve the welfare of military personnel and enhance their operational effectiveness.
