CAN I KICK IT?
Shoes. Apparel. Lifestyle. Charity.
Your one-stop overall OOTD store in CDO.
By MARK FRANCISCO
It’s an all in one shop for your OOTD and lifestyle needs that is outside the bustle of a mall.
Can I Kick It? has a very large collection of the latest and/or rarest sneakers shipped from California for men and women (and for Pride-themed wearers, too!)
Located at the second level of Brako Bar along Chavez street in between Velez and Pabayo streets here in Cagayan de Oro City, the shop opens from 10:00am to 10:00pm every day including Sundays.
Can I Kick It? offers the following brands of footwear and apparel: Nike, Adidas, Puma, Vans, UGG, Li-Ning, Guess, DKNY, Hoka, Icebug, Allbirds, New Balance, Timberland, North Face, Under Armour, Converse and a lot more! They offer a selection of these super brands for gender-neutral individuals while most brands also offer Pride-themed items.
The store also offers branded and imported shirts, pants, caps, hoodies and even Skims undergarments.
Brand new shoes prices range from P1,500 to P4,000 although signature or collector’s items may fetch as high as P10,000. But take note that these items are 20 up to 80 percent cheaper than mall prices. They usually advise their customers to search online and compare the pricing for each pair. Can I Kick It? also offers used shoes that range from P300 to P1,000 each, and even lower if bought in sacks.
The shop can offer very low prices since Can I Kick It? is a beneficiary of World Mission Outreach Fellowship – a Church-based charity seeking out sponsors in North America to fund humanitarian programs in Ghana, India, Nepal and Mindanao (Philippines). WMOF has been assisting necessitous families and children in Mindanao since 1996 through school sponsorships, feeding programs and distribution of footwear. They have already given over 100,000 pairs of shoes, mostly Toms and Skechers, in Mindanao.
WMOF partners with Soles4Soles (a nonprofit organization based in Nashville TN USA) who receives both corporate and individual donations of shoes and clothing. They are able to reuse donations and create entrepreneurships and sustainable incomes for families in need in developing nations.
Another affiliate is Street Business School that aims to educate and break the cycle of poverty by offering free business school classes to those interested in becoming entrepreneurs. They provide an opportunity to be a reseller and create a sustainable income for families in need. These students/vendors are the main reason Can I Kick It? also offers used shoes sold in bulk – which are sold in sacks, mostly from their warehouse at World Mission Outreach Fellowship Alae, Bukidnon.
And if you think you’re not ready to shop yet, just know that for every pair you’re buying, with the help of World Mission Outreach Fellowship, Soles4Souls and Street Business School, Can I Kick It? promises to give the same amount of shoes and more to necessitous individuals.
Their collection is so vast and unique that 90 percent of the displayed shoes are not even available in commercial malls in the Philippines.
Can I Kick It? accepts orders and delivers both locally and internationally. For Cagayan de Oro residents who prefer to shop online, Can I Kick It? delivers the items at your doorstep via Maxim. Just hit the Messenger button of their Facebook account (fb.com/CanIKickItCDO).
