Bridging Gaps: New 2.6KM Road Enhances Access to Education in Barangay Eureka, Gingoog City

Misamis Oriental – In a significant move towards community development, Governor Peter “Sr. Pedro” M. Unabia spearheaded the turnover ceremony for a newly inaugurated 2.6KM road, connecting Sitio Kulipapa to Sitio Baliguihan in Barangay Eureka, Gingoog City.

The primary objective of this initiative is to enhance access to education for local children who previously encountered challenges in reaching urban schools. By bridging this educational gap, the project aims to empower communities and uplift the overall well-being of the residents.

Led by the 524th Engineer (BUILDERS) Construction Battalion, 52nd Engineer (KAAYADAN) Brigade, Philippine Army, in collaboration with the Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental, City Government of Gingoog, and 58IB, 4ID, PA, the road opening is expected to facilitate transportation and mobilization, fostering agricultural, economic, and holistic development in the region.

The project aligns with the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) under the 52nd Engineering Brigade of the Philippine Army.

During the ceremony, a Signing of Declaration of Persona-non-grata to Terrorist Groups CPP-NPA-NDF was conducted, reinforcing the commitment to maintaining a terrorist-free province of Misamis Oriental.

This development not only opens opportunities for the youth but ensures that education is now safe and accessible to every aspiring mind in the community. The collaboration between local government units and military forces underscores the dedication to fostering peace, progress, and prosperity in the region. (Gerry Lee Gorit)
