Aloranon SHS benefit from pre-employment coaching

OROQUIETA CITY, Misamis Occidental (PIA)–A total of 400 senior high school students of Aloran Trade High School attended the Career Coaching Seminar conducted by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-10 through its Misamis Occidental Provincial Field Office (Mis. Occ. PFO) headed by Provincial Director Ebba B. Acosta in coordination with the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) at Al Trade Covered Court, Labo, here.

With the theme, “Follow the Guide, Tag a Career, Like the Future,” the activity was graced by the school principal, Melchesiedick Q. Bolanio, who stressed the need to prepare future employees on work ethics, the culture of productive and decent labor, and other workplace dynamics. Bolanio said the seminar will help students understand their duties and responsibilities while applying for jobs, as well as the industry and profession they want to work in.

Topics covered during the activity included résumé and application letter preparation, common job interview questions, proper grooming, networking, and building supportive relationships with others. An overview of general labor standards, acquiring relevant information about employment, the current labor market and its key employment generators, and work ethics were also discussed with the aspiring future workers and leaders.

Guidance Counselor Virginia Cajan commended the Department of Labor and Employment at the end of the activity for delivering a complete bundle of pre-employment and labor market information. Students dressed in their best costumes for their chosen profession were also recognized and given monetary awards. (DOLE MisOcc/PIA-10/Misamis Occidental)
