CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The Department of Agriculture – Northern Mindanao (DA-10) through its Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) committee honored 23 of its tenured employees in a Loyalty Awarding Ceremony on December 7, 2023 here.
Under Civil Service Memorandum Circular 6, Series of 2022, several employees who have rendered continuous and satisfactory service for 40, 35, 30, 25, and 20 years in the government were recognized.
“It is indeed a special occasion to recognize your devoted years in government service with DA-10,” Carlene C. Collado, DA-NorMin regional executive director remarked, further noting that their loyalty, commitment, and dedication is a rarity nowadays where exploring better opportunities and new experiences in the workforce is common.
With their enduring service, the agri chief executive added that it allowed them to gain institutional knowledge, which has added to the unique culture of the department.
“I commend you for your contributions to achieving and upholding the integrity of the agency with your collective strengths,” Dir. Collado lauded the awardees while pinning his hopes that they too, have advanced not only in their professional but personal goals as well.
Anchored on DA-10’s mantra ‘DAOG: DA’s One Goal: 10 for 1’, the agency head also urged the loyalty honorees to continue their desire toward achieving more strides for the promotion and development of the agri-fishery sector, especially now that the agri department is helmed by the newly appointed, Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel, Jr.
“May we be guided by his priority on increasing food production and modernizing agriculture, a major pillar of the Philippine economy,” RED Collado said.
More so, he reiterated the directive of President Marcos to modernize agriculture to ensure food security, reduce reliance on imports, and uplift the lives of Filipino farmers and fishers.
In doing so, it would encourage the younger generation to take on an active role in the country’s bid for food security, the DA-10 official furthered.
“May I request that you place that invaluable expertise and experience into mentoring up-and-coming staff so that they can one day make a similar contribution to the department.” the regional executive director capping off his message before agency personnel.
The presentation of the plaque of recognition and loyalty memorabilia was led by DA-10 RED Collado together with Regional Technical Director for Operations Carlota S. Madriaga, Regional Technical Director for Research and Regulations Cora A. Dumayaca, who also chairs the PRAISE committee, Administrative and Finance Division chief Patrick Ian F.
