Manila, Philippines. October 30, 2026 — VinFast Philippines was the sole automaker that received a commendation for its contribution to advancing cross-border electric mobility through investments and strategic partnerships during the recently-concluded Joint Opening Ceremony of the 44th ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM44) and the 26th ASEAN Energy Business Forum (AEBF26). The recognition reinforces VinFast Philippines’ role in supporting ASEAN’s broader energy and sustainability agenda by making electric mobility more accessible and helping expand the adoption of battery electric vehicles in the Philippines. The award also acknowledges the company’s contribution to advancing regional energy cooperation and supporting ASEAN’s shared pursuit of a secure, resilient, interconnected, and sustainable energy future, in line with the Philippines’ ASEAN 2026 Chairship theme, “Navigating Our Future, Together.”
Mr. Antonio “Toti” Zara III, CEO for VinFast Philippines, said: “Since our entry in the market in 2024, VinFast has rewritten the rules of mobility in a manner that makes the shift to EV an easy, reliable, and practical choice for many Filipinos. We receive this commendation with pride and humility as it symbolizes the impact of our efforts in helping the country accelerate EV adoption while also recognizing that our work is far from over. Much remains to be done to advance the Philippines toward sustainable mobility, and we take this recognition to charge us forward.”
The 44th AMEM and its Associated Meetings brought together energy ministers and senior officials from ASEAN Member States, Dialogue Partners, and international organizations to advance regional cooperation across key areas of the energy sector. Discussions covered energy security, the transition toward cleaner energy, renewable energy deployment, energy efficiency, and greater connectivity and integration of energy systems across Southeast Asia.
As one of the official mobility partners of this year’s meeting, VinFast deployed an 11-unit fleet of its premium seven-seater VF MPV 7 for delegates from ASEAN’s Dialogue Partners and other participating stakeholders. Deployed throughout the four-day gathering from October 5 to 8, the fleet provided comfortable, spacious, and zero-emission transportation, demonstrating how electric mobility can support the practical needs of high-level regional events.
Beyond expanding its vehicle lineup, VinFast continues to build an integrated EV ecosystem designed to give customers greater confidence throughout the ownership journey. By bringing together its vehicles, charging network, aftersales support, financing options, and other ownership solutions, VinFast aims to make electric mobility more accessible and practical while helping accelerate BEV adoption in the Philippines and across the region.
