THE local government of Cagayan de Oro City, under the administration of Mayor Klarex Uy, is ready for the upcoming observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day on November 1 and 2 this year.
In line with this, police personnel will begin deploying to various public and private cemeteries across the city on October 30 to ensure a smooth and peaceful observance.
The city currently has 20 public and private cemeteries, and the local government has assured the public that personnel will be assigned to monitor and oversee these sites.
During the meeting, the Incident Management Team (IMT) also reminded the public to consider the prevailing weather conditions, particularly high temperatures and sudden rainfall, when visiting their departed loved ones.
The city is urging the public to avoid visiting cemeteries between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to minimize the possible effects of extreme heat. Residents are also encouraged to visit cemeteries before the actual observance dates, especially those belonging to vulnerable groups, including pregnant women, senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and others.
