DAVAO CITY – Globe Platinum brought its iPhone 18 launch activities to Davao City through an exclusive midnight gathering that combined the unveiling of the latest Apple devices with a showcase of local entrepreneurship and hospitality.

Held at Mori & Mill on the eve of the nationwide release, the event was part of simultaneous launch activities organized by Globe Platinum in Davao, Manila and Cebu, giving select subscribers an opportunity to receive and unbox their new devices ahead of the public rollout.

The Davao gathering was hosted by Anthony Ang, a business leader and culinary entrepreneur who is also a Globe Platinum subscriber, under the company’s “Platinum for Platinum” concept, which brings together premium subscribers and fellow members of the business community.

The initiative highlighted Davao’s role in the nationwide launch while providing a platform for a local business establishment to host an event centered on technology, dining and customer engagement.

Guests shared a dining experience before the midnight countdown and the unveiling of their iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max devices, according to Globe’s announcement.

Globe Platinum said the format was designed to provide subscribers with a more personalized alternative to conventional product launches, which typically involve crowded retail outlets and long queues.

“Our Platinum customers have told us that being first should not mean having to compromise their time or experience,” said Mark Pasaylo, head of Globe Platinum Business.

“With the iPhone 18 launch, we wanted to rethink what it means to give our most valued customers early access. Instead of simply giving them a device, we created an experience that reflects their lifestyle, intimate, seamless, and thoughtfully curated,” he added.

Pasaylo said the gathering also allowed the company to celebrate with Platinum subscribers who operate businesses and contribute to their respective communities.

For Ang, hosting the Davao leg of the launch provided an opportunity to highlight the city’s culinary offerings and bring together customers with shared interests in technology and quality experiences.

“We are proud to be part of an experience that showcases what Davao can offer while bringing together a community that appreciates quality, innovation, and meaningful experiences,” Ang said.

The simultaneous gatherings in Davao, Manila and Cebu formed part of Globe Platinum’s broader effort to provide a consistent customer experience across key urban markets while working with businesses operated by its own subscribers.

In Manila, the event was held at TAGLISH Seafood Steakhouse in Makati, owned by chef and Globe Platinum subscriber Frances Tariga, while the Cebu gathering took place at The Pig & Palm, the restaurant of chef Jason Atherton, who is also a Platinum subscriber.

Globe said customers were able to access the latest flagship devices through iPhone Forever, its year-on-year upgrade program that allows eligible subscribers to upgrade to a new flagship iPhone each year, subject to the program’s terms and conditions.

The latest launch also builds on Globe’s long-standing partnership with Apple in the Philippine market. In 2008, Globe partnered with Apple to introduce the iPhone 3G locally, helping expand Filipino consumers’ access to the then-emerging generation of smartphone technology.

For Davao, the event placed a local business establishment within a nationwide technology launch, illustrating how premium customer programs can also create opportunities for businesses to engage with established customer communities.

Globe Platinum said it continues to develop services and experiences for subscribers who seek early access to new devices alongside personalized customer service.
