EXECUTIVES of Green GSM Philippines told Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Rolando Uy September 22 that their franchise covers the entire Northern Mindanao.
It can be recalled that Uy held a meeting between the management of Green GSM Philippines and taxi operators Tuesday to listen to the issues and concerns raised by both groups.
Operators and drivers of traditional taxis expressed concern over the presence of Green GSM taxicabs in the city, fearing that they could lose their livelihoods because of the alleged hundreds of Green GSM units.
However, Green GSM Philippines executives explained that their operations cover the entire region and are not concentrated solely in Cagayan de Oro City.
They added that only a limited number of their units are currently operating in the city.
Along this line, Uy is hopeful that the various groups of traditional taxi operators in the city and the management and operators of the new Green GSM Taxi can reach a positive agreement.
Uy added that he would continue to support the groups’ efforts toward productive and beneficial initiatives, particularly those that serve the city and its people.
