ORO Chamber president Almarco Brito has thrown his support behind the Higalaay Art Gallery Walk, underscoring the important role of business in supporting Cagayan de Oro’s growing creative community and helping turn local creativity into meaningful economic opportunities.
The gallery walk, held at Limketkai Luxe Hotel as part of Bulawanong Bahandi 2026: The Kagay-an Creative Industries Month Celebration, brings together the works of 15 regional visual artists in a selling exhibition featuring paintings and sculptures displayed across the hotel’s lobby, foyer, and Forma spaces. Bulawandong Bahandi is a project of the Oro Trade and Investments Promotions Center, a department of the Cagayan de Oro City government.
Brito’s support highlights the growing connection between Cagayan de Oro’s business sector and its creative industries, encouraging businesses, collectors, and institutions to appreciate, support, and patronize the work of local artists.
More than an art exhibition, the Higalaay Art Gallery Walk seeks to create opportunities for the city’s creative talents while demonstrating how art can contribute to business environments, brand identity, community development, and the wider local economy.
The participating artists previously showcased their works at the Xavier University Museum through KaMi Creatives’ Panagtigum Redux, bringing their works once again into a venue where the creative and business communities can meet.
The initiative forms part of Bulawanong Bahandi 2026’s broader effort to provide platforms for Cagayan de Oro’s creative talents and strengthen the city’s creative economy by creating meaningful links between artists, enterprises, collectors, and institutions.
With the support of business leaders such as Brito, the gallery walk reflects a growing recognition that creativity and enterprise can work hand in hand—and that investing in local art can also mean investing in the identity, vitality, and economic future of the community.
