Dahino presides CIACAT-VAWC meeting

THE City Inter-Agency Council against trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children (CIACAT-VAWC) held its 3rd quarterly meeting on Friday, Sept.11, at the City Council Conference Room 2, this city.

City Council Committee on Women and Family Relations Chairperson City Councilor Des Dahino presided the meeting alongside CIACAT-VAWC Focal Person Atty. Venamay Celeste.

Highlights of the meeting included plans for the upcoming International Day of No Prostitution
on October 3., 18-Day Campaign to End VAW
on November 25 to December 12 and updates on Women and Children Protection Unit
(WCPU) – City Hospital, One Stop
Shop Processing Center (Proposed name: Child Advocacy and Processing Center – CAPC) and visit of Supreme Court Associate Justice Felomina Singh on October 2026.

The council also discussed the rising concern of abuse in school setting and its role in addressing the issue.

“Today, we successfully held our 3rd Quarter CIACAT-VAWC Meeting, where we reviewed the accomplishments and approved the minutes of our previous quarter, discussed updates and areas for improvement, and aligned our plans for the upcoming activities reflected in our annual calendar,” Dahino said. “These meetings remind us that protecting women, children, and vulnerable sectors is a continuous commitment that requires collaboration, accountability, and shared purpose.” CIO
