The Association of Firearms and Ammunition Dealers of the Philippines (AFAD) brings the 32nd Defense & Sporting Arms Show (DSAS) to Cagayan de Oro City from August 27 to August 30, 2026, at The Atrium, Limketkai Center.
Guests and visitors can explore exhibits featuring industry products and equipment; a selection of local and imported sporting arms, tactical equipment, accessories, optics, protective and storage equipment, outdoor gear, apparel, camping equipment, and other related products.
“DSAS is a gun show formed by licensed firearms dealers mostly based in Manila, and two to three times a year they come up with a gun show like this one to showcase all the firearms they bring in from here and abroad for people to see all in one event,” said Rhone Malcolm “Duke” De Leon, AFAD Board Member, in an exclusive interview with the CDO Bloggers Network in the sidelines of the event. “That’s what we’re bringing here to Northern Mindanao, Cagayan de Oro for the first time.”
De Leon said the show affords people from the region what the people of Cebu, Gensan, Davao have been experiencing for the past years.
DSAS 2026 welcomes government agencies, military and law enforcement personnel, industry professionals, firearms and shooting sports enthusiasts, collectors, members of the general public.
“You can see and personally handle different firearms, different brands from different places, and compare prices,. The show also features local firearms makers and exporters like Armscor (Armscor Global Defense, Inc.) and Metro Arms Corporation (MAC) ,” de Leon noted.
“If you are decided to really buy a firearm, you can get your license from the License to Own and Possess Firearms (LTOPF) Caravan which is just located at the Mezzanine of The Atrium. The LTOPF Caravan provides an opportunity for people to get their license to own a firearm.
The Caravan covers educational discussions focused on safe firearm handling, responsible ownership, marksmanship, and other relevant topics; legal assistance on information on existing firearm laws, regulations, licensing requirements, and responsible ownership practices; and drug and neuro testing, among others.
In his message during the event’s opening, National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) Commissioner PBGen. Josephus G. Angan (Ret.) stressed NAPOLCOM’s mandate to administer and control the Philippine National Police, and to ensure that public safety is upheld at the highest standard.
“But we cannot do it alone. That is why we value organizations like yours. Because the real work of peace and order does not stop with the men and women in uniform. It extends to every licensed firearm owner, every dealer, every association that chooses to be part of the solution,” Angan said.
Recognized as one of the country’s premier defense and sporting arms exhibitions, DSAS serves as a platform for industry stakeholders, government agencies, law enforcement and military personnel, sporting enthusiasts, collectors, and the general public to come together for an event centered on industry developments, responsible firearm ownership, safety, education, and shooting sports.
The Defense & Sporting Arms Show was established in 1994 and has continued to provide a venue for the Philippine defense and sporting arms industry to showcase products, services, developments, and initiatives.
Now on its 32nd year, DSAS continues its mission of encouraging responsible ownership, strengthening firearm safety awareness, supporting the shooting sports community, and providing the public with access to relevant industry information and services.
“To the leaders and members, as you mark this milestone, NAPOLCOM challenges you for the next 32 years: Be more than an association. Be the standard-bearers. Be the reason communities feel safer because licensed owners are part of them,” Angan noted.
DSAS aims to promote responsible firearm ownership, educate the public on firearm safety, increase awareness of relevant laws and regulations; provide access to legitimate industry information and services; support the Philippine shooting sports community; create a venue for dialogue among industry stakeholders, government agencies, professionals, and the public.
“The Commission stands with you. We will continue to support programs that professionalize firearms ownership and strengthen the partnership between the Philippine National Police, the community and your organization. Thank you and may we all continue to be guardians of peace, defenders of the law, and partners in building a safer community,” he concluded.
